Time Travelling in Victorian Lymington
What would it have been like to live in Lymington in Victorian times? What should a time traveller bring on a visit to the town? Well, one thing the prudent traveller would have needed was a handkerchief ....and a supply of Keating’s Powder would have been useful.
This walk looks at what life was like in the town after its Georgian heyday, when salt and smuggling declined and all the soldiers had left.
This walk starts at Lymington Railway Station and finishes at the old Workhouse at the junction of New Street and Avenue Road. The walk takes 1¾ hours.
