Buckland and the Rings
Buckland and the Rings
Walk through the old hamlet of Buckland, past Donkey Cottage and the house of a poet. At the Rings, scramble up the ramparts in the woods and discover Iron Age Lymington. Finish at the old toll house and find out how road tax is not a new invention.
NOTE: This walk takes slightly longer than normal – about 1¾ hours and includes some footpaths. At the Rings we walk over rough grassland, so please wear suitable footwear.
The footpaths on the Rings are not suitable for wheelchairs
This walk starts at The Borough Arms, Avenue Road and finishes at the Monkey House on Southampton Road.
Some parts of these walks may have uneven ground or restricted access at some points for wheelchairs or buggies and may not be suitable for those unable to walk easily
